After earning his first cap for the national team at the tender age of 14, and becoming the youngest ever player at the 1998 World Cup, this Cameroon veteran is hitting his stride at just the right time - scoring goals left, right and centre for Serie A leaders and Champions League semi-finalists Inter Milan.
After the success of his Italian club Inter Milan in the UEFA European Champions League, Cameroonian football star Samuel Eto'o is the toast of the town and his country. This is Eto'o third success in the competition that is referred to as the Super bowl of European Football, making him the only player with Clarence Seedorf to have won the cup with three different teams. Cameroonian bloggers are proud of the accomplishment of their star player and hope that the momentum of his success can carry on for Cameroon at the World Cup.
And while it won't be an easy ride for Cameroon who take on dark-horses the Netherlands, Denmark and Japan, Eto'o will be hoping to add to his impressive tally of eight qualification goals, making him the current top scorer.
The green, red and yellow flag was waving in Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium thanks to Samuel Eto'o who wore the national flag on his shoulders [..] He becomes the first football player to achieve the hat trick, championship, national cup and the champion's league two years in a row, with Barcelona and Inter Milan.
